With tongue firmly planted in cheek, let me give everyone some background on this second "Rematch" in SFCCL history. Back during season one, I tried out the new fad of recording my matches and posting them on YouTube. Genius, huh? Originally my videos were simple point-and-shoot videos with my Kodak digital camera. Several months later, I decided to invest in a recording device specifically for recording matches off of my PS3. My first attempt to record matches was with an EasyCAP (now using a Dazzle). I wanted to record some random online ranked matches and upload them to test different settings for the best results. Of course, my random opponents didn't know I was recording our matches and posting them online. Well, except for one.
Back in March 2010, I recorded a random online ranked match. It was a classic Ken vs. Ryu matchup. My Ken won that match, but admittedly, I got lucky pulling it out in the end. After I posted the video on YouTube, the video received a comment......a comment from the Ryu player in the video. That player was SUPREMEKINGQ7, the same SupremeKingQ7 in the league today. He obviously took exception to losing that match and posted, "It won't happen again." My reply was a simple, "OK...". I then invited him to join the SFCCL but he didn't join until season 3. Since then, we both waited for another match to be setup within the league. Unfortunately, none ever happened...until this season.
When I began setting up season 4, we both noticied that my Ken and his Ryu were in the same division. At the beginning of the season, I joked with SUPREME on Facebook that it was going to be a rematch two years in the making. And it didn't disappoint! The Rematch lived up to the hype!
Below are the two videos (season 4 Rematch two years in the making and the original match from March 2010). Remember those old graphics way back in SF4 vanilla? Hopefully, we've both improved since then, but in the end it doesn't matter. Both were great matches. Just two guys havnig a lot fun playing SF4. The first match led to a great member joining the league. The second match will hopefully setup another rematch in Super Brawl IV. I know SUPREMEKING wants one. And I'll be ready!
And for those interested in how I record my matches, here is my original blog with all the details:
